Slow charging times have been one of the main barriers to EV adoption. But soon, they’ll be able to refuel in just a few minutes.
Future technology offers even more promise. Israeli startup StoreDot has attracted $130 million in funding from Daimler (owner of Mercedes) as well as Samsung and British Petroleum. Earlier this year, they claimed that their “extreme fast charging” batteries could be fully charged in just five minutes — a speed that would rival a trip to the gas station.
